Welcome to Full Bloom Counseling
The word "bloom" carries significance for me since 2017, when I first took interest in the mental health field. It reflects my journey and growth both personally and professionally, so it only felt fitting that this word be reflected in my practice.
My hope for my clients is that they bloom in areas of their life they didn't know could.
About Morene Jen, LPC
I’m licensed to practice counseling in the State of Oregon. I hold a master’s degree in Counseling from Western Seminary and a master’s degree in Education from University of California, Davis. My background as a high school teacher gives me a unique perspective on the pressures faced by both students and parents. It was through these experiences, coupled with my own growth journey, that I transitioned to the counseling field. I’ve had the privilege of working with clients across a wide range of ages—from elementary school children to adults—in both group practice and school-based settings.
I was born and raised in San Francisco, but moved to Pacific Northwest to enjoy a slower life pace. In my free time, I like to go on peaceful walks with my family and practice my creativity through drawing or knitting. I also am involved in Western Seminary Counseling Program's Clinical Foundations Course, helping counselors-in-training practice foundational counseling skills.
My Approach
I help clients understand the roots of their experiences, how their upbringing has shaped their choices, relationships, and self-perception, and how they can use this understanding to foster meaningful change.
I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and utilize EMDR to help clients process through traumatic memories or stuck negative beliefs. I integrate EMDR with Internal Family Systems Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to help clients cultivate present-moment awareness, reprocess challenging memories and thought patterns, and live in alignment with their values.
I have been trained in EMDR ("Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing") for trauma, Gottman Method Level I for couples counseling, and SYMBIS ("Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts") for premarital coaching. I am IFS informed.
I want to create a space where you feel safe, accepted, and heard without judgment. I'm here to listen to your story and explore how you relate to yourself, others, and the world around you. If we decide we're a good fit to work together, my goal is to support you in understanding your thoughts and feelings and to collaborate on meaningful, realistic goals for change.
